About Us

Servant books is part of the Franciscan Media family we seek to inspire the discovery, growth and sharing of God’s love. Established by Franciscan Friars in the 1890s, with the foundational belief that everyone deserves to experience a deep, heart-felt relationship with God, Franciscan Media supports spiritual development by providing inspiring, practical, and helpful multimedia resources in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. Beginning with St. Anthony Messenger magazine in 1893, the friars gradually grew their reach and became the one of the principal Catholic family magazines in America.

In an effort to provide daily inspiration and support, Franciscan Media launched AmericanCatholic.org in 1996. It grew to become one of the major Catholic websites worldwide. Other products and resources such as books, audio books, a radio program, videos, a blog, well as a variety of e-newsletters and other digital resources continue to be developed in the spirit of St. Francis. In 2003, Servant Books joined Franciscan Media, complementing existing products with a focus of inspiring Catholics to celebrate their faith and nurture a deep, life-changing relationship with God. Franciscan Media is a non-profit organization funded through product sales and the generosity of our donors. Our efforts help support the life, ministry and charities of the Franciscan Friars of St. John the Baptist Province.
